Project Integra Type R DC2
Just days before my arrival to Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, I got myself an Integra Type R (98' spec DC2) so that I can have a car to drive in Tokyo; and this car is a blast! Amazing handling, screaming VTEC that pulls as soon as it kicks in, and it really connects the driver to the road.
So to preserve this amazing machine, I have decided to do a mild restomod on it so it can drive like a new car as much as possible for the next little while. This page will document the build and the parts that are being changed (and the reason why).

So overall, the car came in very good condition! I definitely lucked out this time, as I found out the previous owner is actually a Honda mechanic, he must have taken very good care of the car.
So even on the auction sheet, it already stated that there's some slow leak on the power steering hose. It did have some minor accident repair to it, when I couldn't tell at all when I inspected the car in person. Hell, even my tuner said I completely lucked out and got such a great car at an amazing price.
But still, an almost 30 year car would still have its wear and tear, so the restomod goes back to the basic first: The wear and tear items that cannot stand the test of time. Here's the list of items that are wear and tear related that are being replaced.
-
All suspension bushing (Spoon bushing)
-
Rear toe arms and suspension arms
-
Alternator rebuild
-
Radiator - opting for a Koyorad
-
Replace all coolant hoses
-
Power steering (PAS) pump rebuild
-
High pressure power steering hose (this was a tricky one)
-
New air con compressor
-
New timing belt and water pump (OEM)
-
New fuel filter (OEM)
-
New clutch hose and slave cylinder
-
New oil seals
So with the above list, all the basic items should be in order from reliability perspective.

Next set of items being changed are more geared towards performance, the "mod" part of the restomod.
-
Tein Flex Z Coilover
-
Endless basic slit brake rotors
-
Endless Super Street S-sports brake pads
-
Endless swivel steel brake line set
-
Spoon B-pipe and N1 axle-back exhaust
-
Toyo Proxes R1R tires
And with that, I think the build is complete. If there are other items that you believe I should change or upgrade to, please drop me a comment below.
