Back at Nismo Omori Factory: Pennzoil R34, Clarion GT-R LM and S1 Engines

Updated: Oct 10
If you're a die-hard Skyline GT-R fan, the Nismo Omori Factory is the holy grail. This was my second visit this year, and the rotating showcase floor had an entirely new lineup of iconic race cars.
On the Showcase Floor
1999 Pennzoil Nismo R34 GT-R
1996 Nismo GT-R LM (Clarion)
2013 Motul Autech Super GT R35 GT-R
Nismo GT3 builds powered by the 540+ hp VR38DETT
The Omori Factory Crate Engines
The highlight was standing face to face with the Omori Factory crate engines: the S1, a finely tuned 400 bhp RB-series engine built for the street, and the modern VR38 S1, which borrows camshafts directly from the GT3 program. There was also the R1 engine and the 2018-spec GT3 engine on display.
Final Thoughts
Every visit to Omori is different, and every one is worth it. If you missed my first visit, check out Inside the Holy Grail: A Tour of the Nismo Omori Factory.
Which would you rather have in your car: an S1 or R1 engine? Let me know in the comments!
