I've always loved the Shinjuku and Kabukicho area, and I stay there almost every time I visit Tokyo. The neon signs, the crowds, the sleepless nights, the 24-hour restaurants, I love it all. So I took the DC2 for a late-night lap of the busiest part of town at 2AM.

A Different Point of View

Driving around Kabukicho is a completely different experience from walking it. I never realized how many taxis are out at 2AM until I had to work my way around them to get into a left-turn lane!

A Night Cruise, Not a Spirited Drive

This isn't a spirited driving video. It's a relaxed night cruise through the heart of Tokyo in my Integra Type R DC2, soaking in the city.

A Long First Day

I picked up the car from my agent that same day and hit two car meets before heading back to Shinjuku: the MEGASHOW meet at Funabashi Racecourse and an underground meet at Aomi Parking Area. Both have their own posts here on the blog.

Final Thoughts

Tokyo after midnight has its own rhythm, and seeing it from behind the wheel made me love this neighbourhood even more.
