Back to Japan: NSX Day, R's Meeting, B2B and My First Drive in an FD2

Bags are packed and the cameras are charged. This month I'm heading back to Japan for about three weeks, and this trip is all about the events: three of the biggest gatherings on the JDM calendar, plenty of late nights at the parking areas, and a car I've wanted to drive for years.
The car: Civic Type R FD2
For the first time, I'll be behind the wheel of a Civic Type R FD2. After plenty of miles in my DC2 Integra Type R, I'm curious to see how Honda's last naturally aspirated Type R sedan compares. The plan is to drive it from Tokyo down to the Osaka region, so expect plenty of in-car footage and an honest first impression.
The events
NSX Day at Suzuka Circuit – a full day dedicated to Honda's NSX at one of the most legendary tracks in the world.
R's Meeting at Fuji Speedway – the all-GT-R gathering, from R32s to R35s, at the foot of Mount Fuji.
B2B Japan Car Show at Fuji – another big day of builds, tuners and car culture at Fuji.
The night scene
Of course, no trip is complete without the parking areas. I'll be making regular runs to Daikoku PA and Umihotaru PA to catch whatever rolls in. If you've followed the channel, you know every night there is different.
Where to watch
Long-form videos from the trip will land on the Daikoku Legends YouTube channel on Saturday mornings, with shorts and photos on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok along the way. If you're going to any of these events, come say hi, and drop a comment with any spots you think I should add to the JDM Legends Map.
Planning your own trip?
Check the Japan car meet calendar for the big events by month, and read how to visit Daikoku PA (and what to do if it's closed) before you go. Every spot I film ends up on the JDM Legends Map.
